Harvesting sustainability
The timber flooring industry is very sustainable, taking most of its logs from sustainable hardwood forests throughout NSW and QLD. Queensland Timber Flooring source the majority of our Australian hardwood flooring through Hurford Hardwood, who have managed their own private forest of over 5,000 hectares in and around Kyogle NSW for over 30 years. These forests are carefully managed with over 20,000 eucalypt saplings being planted every year to ensure their sustainability.
Responsible timber sourcing and forest management
88% of forests in NSW are protected while the other 12% are made available for sustainable timber supply. Timber flooring also stores carbon within its cell structure ensuring the carbon is never released into the atmosphere.
Native Australian hardwoods
Two of Australia’s oldest sawmills supply the majority of our native species such as Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Brushbox and Ironbark. It is both the quality of this timber and the commitment of our sawmills to Industry Standards that give us the confidence to know that we are supplying our customers with the best quality materials.
Queensland Timber Flooring also offers exclusive access to other imported products, in particular solid and engineered French Oak. Our Brisbane warehouse stocks over 200,000 lineal metres of flooring which ensures that we are able to provide an efficient, cost effective service.
Flooring that lasts the test of time
We offer a comprehensive range to accommodate all designs and budgets. This has ensured our place as a leader in this specialised industry servicing Queensland and northern New South Wales.
